Tim Wakefield who has been for longtime in Red Sox and one of the best pitchers has just announced his retirement on Friday after 19 seasons including the last 17 with the Boston Red sox.
Wakefield shares many great memories and moments which reflected on his fantastic 17 year career in Boston.
He has played 19 major league seasons and out of 19, 17 seasons with the Red Sox and also become a favorite.
Every time I stepped on the field, I gave everything that I had. All I ever wanted to do was win, and the bigger goal was to win a World Series for this great city. Finally, after 86 years, we were able to do that, Wakefield said.
Wakefield is first in team history with 3,006 innings and 430 starts, and second in games and strikeouts.
