BCCI selection committee chairman Krishnamachari Srikkanth prays at Tirupati for cricketer Yuvraj Singh who has been diagnosed with cancer.
Dozens of fans along with Srikkanth were seen at the temple of Hindu deity Lord Venkateshwara in Tirupati.
Srikkanth, who had arrived at the temple with his family on Sunday said he wished Singh a speedy recovery.
Shrikanth said: I would like to wish Yuvraj Singh all the very best. We are at the Kalian Venkateshwara temple. I have been hearing from the TV reports and the press reports that he is very cheerful and he is recovering from his disease very fast and I am sure by the grace of Kalian Venkateshwara and by Lord Balaji's grace Yuvraj will be hundred percent cured and I am sure he will be playing for India shortly and winning more world cups for us.
30 year old southpaw was told last year that he had a golf ball sized non-malignant tumour but that diagnosis was changed last week to a condition called "mediastinal seminoma.
Yuvi is currently undergoing chemotherapy in the USA at the Boston Medical Center, the same institute that treated American cyclist Lance Armstrong.
Armstrong is arguably international sports' best-known cancer survivor who went on to win a record seven Tour de France titles.
Well South African Dave Callaghan and Australian Simon O'Donnell also recovered from cancer to resume their cricketing careers. Lets hope for the same for Yuvraj Singh.
